The scent of coniferous woods mixes with the roughness of carbon in the locksmith’s shop, tinctures exude hints of oils, waxes and alcohol… In addition to the sounds for the ear, a “real” piano manufactory is also an experience space for the nose. Yes, actually for all senses of culture-loving visitors with a vein for craftsmanship according to old fathers’ custom. There are fewer than ten of these manufactories left in the world.

In Bayreuth, the Steingraeber & Söhne piano manufactory will open its doors for an open day on Sunday, November 6, from 1 to 6 pm. The Steingraeber master piano makers invite visitors to experience handcrafted piano making. The manufactory, the piano museum and the exhibition rooms are open for you to explore on your own.
