Festival “Time For New Music” (Zeit für Neue Musik)

Due to the Corona situation, the festival “Time for New Music” was postponed indefinitely.

Bayreuth City Church – Wahnfried House – Anthroposophical Society – Art Museum – Steingraeber Chamber Music Hall: the 33rd festival “Time for New Music in Bayreuth” is playing all over Bayreuth! From March 14 to 23, 2020, the popular festival wanders through the city to which it is dedicated … and dedicates itself to the memory of its founder, Professor Helmut Bieler, who died in 2019.

So it starts on Saturday, March 14th, with the vernissage: Helmut Bieler “A life for music”. This exhibition is designed by two of his children, the music dramaturge Susanne Bieler and the director Achim Bieler – admission is free.

This year there will be a total of 7 concerts in 5 different locations; The Anthroposophical Society has been added as an event location this year. The piano night at the Steingraeber Haus is back on Saturday, March 21st. Another new feature is the cinema screening at Haus Wahnfried – on the one hand the short film “Glas” by Achim Bieler and on the other hand “Die Nibelungen” by Friedrich Murnau with film music by Helmut Bieler.

The festival management is the responsibility of the pianist and composer Wolfram Graf, who has organized the “Time for New Music” together with Helmut Bieler for many years.
